» The White Luxury Car And the Shiny... Subway Train!

Hello, everybody!

It's been a whole lot of time since the last time we've added something new to EP Cars! Almost 3 (three) years, to be more precise! During this time, we've been busy with other projects, and we've kinda neglected this site.

After we've changed our hosting provider, about four months ago, we've made some rather subtle (but nonetheless useful) modifications to the site layout and functionality. We will continue to improve EP cars more, in the coming weeks.

Apart from the very long delay since the last content update :-), we've got a couple of premieres today:

  • The former is that we've added a... subway or metro ('tube', for British people) model. Having a very modern, yet quite simple design, the Bombardier MOVIA 346 has been specifically designed for the Bucharest metro (the capital city of Romania). It has been put in service starting 2004, gradually replacing the previous, communist-era Astra metro trains. And, as of now, over 90% of the trains that run in the Bucharest metro are MOVIA 346!

We've included some textual building aids, near the model parts. However, we will be adding an easier to understand, image-based aid in the near future, to help you build. By the way, the model has a "floor space" (an empty space under the floor), where you can put some coins or something else to weigh it down a bit. The model is designed to have transparent windows. To simulate glass, you can cut two long but narrow rectangles (one for each side), that run along the sides of the train, and are fixed into position with the doors (we have inner and outer door sides, for each door!)
  • The latter premiere is that we're now using Photoshop to design the photorealistic car models. (Until three years ago, these models were made under Paint Shop Pro v4, and later, v7) So, the 2005 Bentley Flying Spur is the first model to be made this way. As well as that, we've paid more attention to quality, clarity and details than ever before. But this model is as simple to build as any previous one. Check it out! ;-)

Finally, as a bonus, we've updated three of the vector- based models. That is, the Neoplan Centroliner, the MAN SL busses, and the MAN Lion's Star luxury coach. Now, they are much larger than before, and you can print at a good quality, in a larger scale than before.

Best wishes,
The EP Cars Team
